Beau Taylor: A Texas Country Grit Story – One Honky Tonk at a Time

Beau Taylor: A Texas Country Grit Story – One Honky Tonk at a Time

Born and raised in Mineral Wells, Texas, Beau Taylor is the real deal – a singer-songwriter and guitarist carrying forward the authentic sounds of traditional outlaw country with a red dirt edge. Heavily influenced by his dad, Weldon Taylor, who put a guitar in his hands at just six years old, Beau’s music blends the storytelling heart of Merle Haggard and Waylon Jennings with bluesy rock touches and Southern twang. Think toe-tapping honky-tonk anthems that hit you right in the feels.

From Roots to the Road

Beau’s journey hasn’t been a straight shot. Like many true country tales, it includes detours – including some trouble as a teen that led to time locked up. But music became his anchor. While inside, he dreamed of turning his life around and sharing his songs. Released, he played lead guitar for his uncle’s band (Kody Crouch Band) while working oilfields in West Texas and New Mexico. Soon after, he formed the Beau Taylor Band and started hitting the honky-tonks hard.

He’s shared stages with heavyweights like John Michael Montgomery, Casey Donahew, Jamie Richards, and Brandon Rhyder. Beau has co-written with award-winning Nashville songwriter Bernie Nelson (known for “Daddy Never Was the Cadillac Kind”) and continues to build his career the independent way – no big labels, just grit, guitar, and loyal fans.

Standout Achievements

Texas State Songwriters Championship (TSSC)  First Runner-Up for 2026 Male Songwriter of the Year and 2nd Runner-Up Champion for Season 1.
Songs that cover the full spectrum of life: heartfelt love tunes like “Lost in Loving You,” rowdy honky-tonk tracks like “Another Song About Texas,” inspirational cuts like “Pawn Shop Guitar,” and rocking numbers like “Things My Daddy Did” and “Blood on My Cowboy Boots.”

His latest release, One Honky Tonk At A Time (co-written with Bernie Nelson), perfectly captures the life of a road warrior – struggles, miles of highway, zig-zags, and the determination to keep living the dream.

On Tour Now – Catch Him Live!

Beau is hitting the road hard this summer and beyond. Recent and upcoming highlights include:

June 26: With Kody Crouch at Redfish Lodge, Port O’Connor, TX
June 27: The Brickyard, Baton Rouge, LA
June 28: Ox Bow Rum Distillery, Baton Rouge, LA
July 2: Orvie’s Hall, Burton, TX
July 4: Crazy Spirits Ranch, Mineral Wells, TX (perfect hometown Independence Day vibe!)
July 10: The Greenwood Saloon, Bluffdale, TX
August 22: Rail Club Music Festival, Fort Worth, TX (spreading awareness for victims of sexual assault, rape, and abuse)
- And more dates rolling in, including a Christmas songwriter circle and stops further out like Memphis, Wisconsin, and beyond.

Why Beau Taylor Matters

In an industry that sometimes forgets its roots, Beau is bringing back that good ol’ honky-tonk twang – music that makes you want to dance, reflect, and raise a glass. He’s a proud father to daughters Alyssa and Baylee, and he gives God the glory for turning his life around. His story is proof that no matter the odds, haters, or past mistakes, you can build something real with faith, hard work, and heart.
